AGENDA
Monday, June 21st
morning session- The morning session will discuss disability criteria and evaluation requirements.
afternoon session- This session will pertain to the components of the IEP, which will include Goals, Objectives, PLAFP, etc.
Tuesday, June 22nd
morning session- Sally Baas from Concordia University will be presenting to the audience regarding culture and diversity. Sally is the Director for the Southeast Asian Teacher Licensure Program and the Coordinator for the Special Education Program. In addition, she is the Hmong. Culture and Language Program coordinator.
afternoon session- The afternoon session will further explore diversity as it pertains to the special education evaluation. Topics will include discussion of the ELL Manual, Reducing Bias Manual and working with interpreters.
Wednesday, June 23rd
morning session- The morning session will discuss Scientifically Research Based Interventions and Data Collection. The presenters will discuss how to create an evaluation plan and incorporate existing data into the plan.
afternoon session- Adele Ciriacy from the Minnesota Department of Education will speak to the audience regarding IDEA versus 504. Adele is a compliance specialist in the department of Compliance and Assistance.
Thursday, June 24th
morning session- The morning session will focus on the Sped Forms program. Those who attend the session will learn the "ins and outs" of the program, including the Design Mode feature and creating charts. A portion of the morning will be lent to question and answers.
afternoon session- The afternoon session will be designated for school teams to work on its Total Special Education Systems Manual. Staff will support teams in a work group setting and provide support for teams who are in the beginning stages of the TSES development.
Friday, June 25th
morning session- The morning session will discuss the Transition component of the IEP and evaluation.
afternoon session- The audience will participate in a presentation about Low Tech. Assistive Technology for the classroom. A wide variety of AT will be demonstrated, displayed and highlighted.
