Education:
K-12 Education Leadership and Administration-Special Education Director
U. of Minnesota-Twin Cities
M.S. Ed. School Psychology
U. of Wisconsin-Stout
B.A. U. of Iowa
Experience:
I am currently in my second year at ISES as a Director of Special Education.
Prior to being a Director of Special Education at ISES, I worked as a School Psychologist for 11 years. My experience is varied and includes inner city settings of Las Vegas, college towns in Oregon, along with urban and suburban settings in Minnesota. I have a particular interest in culturally fair assessment practices and have presented on this topic. I was also a graduate assistant for a teacher of Multicultural issues at U-W Stout and assisted with arranging diverse teaching experiences for prospective teachers.
Something you may not know about me: At the U. of Iowa I was initially enrolled in a post-graduate program for educational measurement and statistics prior to changing focus from numbers and statistics to students (school psychology).
I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to work with a team of Special Education Directors and Coordinators at ISES that are very talented and have diverse backgrounds.
