Experience:

9 years of experience as a dually certified Teacher for Blind/Visually Impaired and Orientation & Mobility Specialist.  I taught for Intermediate School District 917 (2 years) and St. Paul Public Schools (7 years).  I also had the honor of helping out as adjunct faculty for Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2001 & 2002.  I taught as a field instructor for graduate-level orientation and mobility courses.

This is my fourth year in special education administration.  From 2006-09 I was the Supervisor of Special Education for 11 schools/programs in South Washington County Schools.   My responsibilities included elementary through post-secondary programming, ESY coordination, managing of the OT and DHH teams, and CIMP/monitoring & compliance for District 833.

I am thrilled to be working with such a strong group of directors, coordinators, and support staff here at ISES.  I have the privilege of working with 17 great charter schools across the state of Minnesota.   This year has been a fun new challenge, and I have enjoyed supporting the teachers and staff in my schools.

On a personal note, I live in Woodbury with my wife and 3 kids.  My hobbies include golfing and running, and I finished my first marathon in the fall of 2009.  My greater hobby is spending as much time as possible with my family, as I know my kids will be taller than me in a short period of time.
